I think the people chose the record, Tyga added. We put the mixtape out, and we asked them: What record do you like the most? They was like, Deuces. It was always coming up. It was growing on YouTube as well, like 100,000 views a day on YouTube. It was his idea to shoot the video. My homie Colin Tilly, hes done all my videos. Hes done everything. All my mixtape stuff to the bigger stuff Im doing now. He got it right. Its what people wanna see, what they wanna hear.
I dont think you wanna drown people too much, Tyga said about making a full album with Brown. Weve been doing a lot of stuff, though. Hes on my album. Were actually working on a tour right now. A Fan of Fan Tour at the end of the year. Itll be dope.
Tyga has an album coming out soon; it doesnt have a release date yet. But his next mixtape, Well Done, will hit within the next couple of weeks. Its going to be a Gangsta Grillz edition.
I feel like I had to deal with DJ Drama. He reminded of Wayne, when he did Dedication with him, Tyga explained. Wayne was going in on every beat. All the mixtapes Ive been dropping, theyre close to albums. Theyre more songs. They have more content. This one, I wanted to rap on everybodys beat and murder every beat thats out. Its fun to do that. Its easy. I can knock that out real fast. I think Drama is dope when you wanna link up and murder beats like that.

They wont look to sign other female rappers because theyll say, Her buzz was so crazy and if she couldnt do it, then no one can do it. And I dont want that to happen, so Im doing this as well for all the girls. I hope that with the success of the albumbecause I know it will be successful, I believe it will be successfulI hope that this opens doors for all of the girls everywhere.

Drakes Thank Me Later album was anticipated to sell at least one million records in its first week but only hit, a respectable, 447,000 copies. He ended up still going platinum five weeks later; Young Money CEO Cortez Bryant told VIBE magazine that it was because:
The first week was great but [Drake] still need that big smash pop hit like we had with Waynes Lollipop. Wayne got his million because he had that urban side and he crossed over to that pop demographic. I believe Drake wouldve got those million sales if we wouldve had that pop record.
Even Drakes record with Swizz Beatz isnt big enough:
I dont think Fancy is that pop record either. Itll go so far, but when we drop Show Me A Good Time in September that has the potential to be that big record.
But Drakes been diligently in the studio and word on the streets is that his next album may come as early as December of this year! Yeah! Hit that milli, Drizzy!

YEAH. I had the same reaction as you did. T.I. and his wife, Tiny, were arrested early this morning for alleged possession of a controlled substance. According to TMZ:
TMZ has learned they were arrested tonight and booked for the alleged possession of a controlled substance. Law enforcement sources tell us L.A. County Sheriffs deputies pulled over the multi-platinum selling rapper and his wife in a Maybach on Sunset Boulevard around 10:30PM. Deputies say they smelled marijuana, and after searching the vehicle they arrested T.I. and Tameka. The couple just got married on July 30 in Miami, and T.I. real name Clifford Harris Jr. is on probation after doing seven months in prison on federal weapons charges. Were told T.I. and Tameka are in custody right now. Bail amount is $10,000.
(UPDATE) T.I and Tiny were released around 4:00am this morning.
T.I. might have just thrown himself under the bus, too. He released a record titled Pledge Allegiance to the Swag, yesterday and in the song he says:

"Fantasia opens up on suicide attempt. It was no accident."
Fantasias album drops this Tuesday Aug. 24, which is the same day VH1 airs a special episode of Behind the Music where Fantasia addresses her recent suicide attempt. She talks about knowing exactly what she was doing:
I didnt have any fight in me. I didnt care about anything. I just wanted out. At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with all of it, all of that [expletive]. I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You cant accidentally take a whole bottle of pills.

I realized how people end up in the grave. Because that one moment [snaps her fingers] of just breaking or feeling like I cant, I cant go on, its too heavy. That was somewhere I dont ever want to go again.

Tiger Woods divorce with Elin Nordegren has officially been finalized. Her settlement hasnt been publicized but its speculated that shell receive any where from $100 million to five times that amount in assets. Theyll also have joint custody of their two kids.
Tiger and Elin release a statement via their attorneys:
We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the futureWhile we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us.

During a routine drunk driving checkpoint in Los Angeles, cops detected alcohol on Faith Evans breath and arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence.
This isnt the first time shes been arrested for substance, though! In 2004, Faith and her husband were arrested for cocaine and marijuana possession in Atlanta.

Drake jumped on Ustream last night and reached out to Wiz to join him on his Light Dreams and Nightmare Tour.
If Wiz by any chance watches this, you gotta make some calls for me and make this happen We got that young energy right now, we need to go out here and kill these people.

Just the fact of cuz even extending his hand and me being on his radar is tight, to me, he said. It just lets me know that Im doin what I need to be doin as far as stayin relevant and stayin poppin. But I think to keep me poppin and keep me relevant I gotta stay buildin on top of what Im doin and what I been doin. No disrespect to cuz or anybody else who might wanna see me do some more collaborative things, but to keep buildin and keep my brand as strong as what it is, I gotta keep focusin on what it is. That is a bold, underlined and italicized statement by Baby! Cash Money/Young Money are playing their cards wisely, (minus Weezy F. Jailbird getting locked up, of course). They house two of the hottest rappers in the game, Drake and Nicki Minaj, and are working on signing more of the industries best but Birdman thinks Lil Wayne is THEE BEST in the game. He means no disrespect to Hov, but feels that Weezy should have received Jay-Zs title as MTVs Hottest Emcee.
I think we do the most and make the most, so if you dont like it, thats on you. I cant see past Wayne, so I cant see Jay-Z.

"Update on Fantasias overdose"
Fantasia is involved in sex-tape, homewrecking, relationship scandal. It weighed so heavily on her that she was hospitalized last night for an Excedrin/Sleep pill overdose.
A rep for Fantasia just released a statement, peep it below:
Fantasia has always been an open book. Honesty, self-respect, and personal responsibility are values she wears proudly.
Fantasia believed Mr. Cook when he told her he was not happy in his marriage and his heart was not in it. She believed him when he told her he and Mrs. Cook separated in the late summer of 2009. She believed Mr. Cook when he told her he lived elsewhere.
He even took her there. One of Mr. Cooks most redeeming qualities was his complete devotion to his children. Fantasia fell in love with Mr. Cook and believed that he loved her.
Fantasia and Mr. Cook dated on and off for about eleven months. The pressure of the constant media attention was hard on their relationship. Fantasia gave inconsistent interviews about the status of her relationship with Mr. Cook because sometimes they were on and sometimes they were off.
When they were on, they spent most of their time together when she was not traveling with work.
Fantasia read Mrs. Cooks Complaint against Mr. Cook for the first time yesterday. She knows some of the allegations in Mrs. Cooks complaint are totally false. There are others she strongly doubts. There is plenty she does not know.Fantasia is heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused.
Yesterday, she was totally overwhelmed by the lawsuit and the media attention. Last night, Fantasia was hospitalized. She took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid.
Her injuries are not life threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time. Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon. Fantasia is a fighter and a survivor. This is not the hardest thing Fantasia has endured.
Fantasia will be stronger, smarter, and better for it. Her work has always inspired her and served as a source of strength.

Seems like everyone has jumped on Rick Ross B.M.F (Blowing Money Fast) with some kind of freestyle, but the version that Young Jeezy released recently isnt sitting so well with Ricky Rozay.
Jeezy says:

Turns out when Rick Ross thinks hes BIG MEECH, he should have gone through the proper channels to see if that was okay. Big Meech is head of the Black Mafia Family (BMF), and one tough guy running a criminal enterprise, cocaine distribution and money laundering oh and Jeezy happens to be affiliated with the real BMF.

Footage was leaked today of Justin Bieber performing at a Sacramento concert he was in the middle of telling his audience how much he loved them, when he was nailed on the head by a water bottle. He was a good sport about it, acknowledged that it hurt and kept the show moving. What compels people to throw thangs at artists, though?!

A rep for Vivid says:
Its true that we had several conversations with [Laurence Fishburne's lawyer]. We would have stopped shipment but it was too late. We continue to have the utmost respect for all involved.
His daughter has a second tape being released by Brian Pumper, no word on if that DVD has been stopped from being released. What a mess!

California can begin gay marriages again, judge says
Judge Vaughn R. Walkers ruling throwing out Californias ban on same sex marriage also says that gay marriage can again proceed.California is able to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, as it has already issued 18,000 marriage licenses to same-sex couples and has not suffered any demonstrated harm as a result. California officials have chosen not to defend Proposition 8 in these proceedings, he wrote.
Its unclear, however, whether his ruling will be stayed until a higher court can hear the matter, which is expected.
The federal judge who on Wednesday afternoon declared Californias ban on same-sex marriage unconstitutional has temporarily stayed his order until Friday, giving Prop. 8 backers time to file appeals and seek a long-term stay. The decision would appear to delay any resumption of gay marriage in the state. Officials in L.A. County and West Hollywood said they were studying the ruling before deciding whether to begin issuing same-sex marriage licenses again. Prop. 8 backers have vowed to appeal the decision all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.]
Walker also said Proposition 8 treated straight couples as superior to gay ones.Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of a marriage license. Indeed, the evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California Constitution the notion that opposite sex couples are superior to same-sex couples, the judge wrote. Because California has no interest in discriminating against gay men and lesbians, and because Proposition 8 prevents California from fulfilling its constitutional obligation to provide marriages on an equal basis, the court concludes that Proposition 8 is unconstitutional.

Dre opened up to Vibe magazine and spoke about an album of all instrumentals. He says:
I want to call it The Planets Its just my interpretation of what each planet sounds like. Im gonna go off on that. Just all instrumental. Ive been studying the planets and learning the personalities of each planet.
Ive been doing this for about two years now, just in my spare time, so to speak. I wanna do it in surround sound. Itll have to be in surround sound for Saturn to work.
Wait, what?! Second album? Spare time? SOMEBODY shouldnt have spare when working on a golden album like Detox.
